marc_p
Ok, I have come to live with many of the 6 speeds certain 'characteristics', but now I'm using it more often thanks to the weather I have a few issues that I need to know if it's normal or it needs to be rectified: 1) When it's in gear, the gearstick has a 'looseness' feel to it and I can waggle it around quite a bit, is this normal or an issue with something like bushes? 2) After some hard pulls when everything gets rather hot I can notice a very faint whine that seems to come from the box but as soon as I have done some 'cool off' driving for a minuite or 2, it goes away. 3) How often is the gearbox oil supposed to be changed on the V161 and what oil am I to use? If anyone can shed any light on the above it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Marc
jevansio
1) Mine was like this and the cradle bushes were shot, the solid ones made the shifter solid again 3) You are supposed to use the proper V160 oil but I use (alongwith many other people) the Royal Purple stuff
