Couple of questions about comments on the BTCC coverage.

Just having some grub and watching the BTCC coverage from Donnington.

Heard the commentator say some interesting things and wondered if anyone could shed any light on them.

1. Apparently the turbo-charged cars are difficult to get off the line and have to start in second gear. Why would a race car with a full team behind it suffer like that?

2. They also said that the turbo cars have no engine braking. Is that true and, if so, why?

Would they start in 2nd to reduce wheelspin from the line?

What'd be the point? Why not just make 1st a different ratio so you can have closer 2nd-6th gears?

Bemusing, not sure why the comment regarding 2nd off the line though.

Nasty crash by Plato wasn't it?
