hp006
As previous thread has said my car wont start. I have tried searching but after advice it appears i have no spark. The car has not been started for about 8 months. What could cause no spark and what needs to be replaced?

hp006
i hve been researching cud it be the crankshaft position sensor thats the error/no spark? Wud it fail without being used for the last few months? How much is a new one?
merckx
Have you looked for fault codes, they could indicate a bad connection or a faulty sensor? I would be cleaning and checking all of the electrical connections and looking for corrosion on various sensors. ps. Can't you spell or are those words shortened as some people do in text messages? Scooter
does it have the factory alarm/immobilisor still? is this definitely working ok?
hp006
There is no factory alarm as i know. I have an aftermarket one thats working fine. I have checked all wiring all fuses the fuel pump. theres no spark on any spark plug. I had them all out and gave them a good clean. I have checked fault codes and the light just remains on? Nt sure its meant to, sure its meant to flash something? Where is the crankshaft sensor? I have a map ecu fitted could this of lost some of its programming if the battery has not been connect for some time? My spelling is fine, as you say i was shortening it. Chris Wilson
Did you jump start it? If so did you put the leads on the wrong way round? That will nearly always kill the ignition igniter pack. Are the injectors firing? If so the crank trigger is working. Do the coils have power to them?
hp006
Not jump started brand new battery. How can I check if there firing and if there is power to the coil? Where's the coil located?
merckx
It doesn't have a single coil, there's one for each sparkplug.
