Dnk
Think you could do with posting a few more details, how long are you going for (exact dates if you have them) ? have you got anything booked up yet ?
sim1987
the track open from the 25th july to the 28thfor evening use i would probable leave on the 20th giving me or us 5 days to get there staying 3 days and returning on the 28th i have still to look into this further though, nothing booked yet as for laps you can pay on the day you turn up. Dnk
I've been to the ring a few times racing in the 24hrs, only pit crew though but have done a few laps round there. I doubt you'll need 5 days to get there even taking it easy and with stopping over in Brussels, the rings only 300kms from Brussels Edited April 21, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
sim1987
i have neverdriven anywhere else apart from in the uk i wasn't sure where i am going or how long it would take as i said nothing is booked and i haven't taken holidays from work yet so the dates can be changed i would prefer if someone that had been before came along as i would probibaly end up lost . Dnk
Get a tom tom with europes maps loaded into it then you can't go wrong Have you got Google maps ? use that to give yourself an idea of where your going and how far it is. Heres another site to check out http://www.nuerburgring.de Edited April 21, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
sim1987
i have a garmin sat nav with euro maps on it sothat should help alot i checked for distance from edinburgh to the ring is around 860 miles but that is asuming you go through dover and france so if i go from hull the milage would be reduced signifiantly and would save money.roughly how much cash do you hink i would need to go i thought around 1500
Dnk
Mileage wise you've got 500 miles in the uk and 500 miles in europe so approx 1000 miles round trip which will cost you approx £300 at 20mpg. Then a lot depends on where you stop, what you eat and drink and if your going to do any laps when your there, are you including the ferry costs to come out of your £1500 ? sim1987
sounds ok that would still give me 1200 to play with my supra is an na manual so 20mpg sounds ok as for hotels and that i had a look on the web page you gave me can get a room for 80 euros a night and lap prices 4 laps for 89euros or 15 fo 300 or so,this is what i would probably go fori cant wait. You'll have to plan your trip around whats on at the circuit as all the good hotels get booked up in advance, im tempted to go but cant commit at the moment
