Lbm
I was thinking about this reading the N/A V TT reliability set of posts in another current thread. I have to my knowledge the original J-Spec turbos. I bought the car with only 15,000 miles (25K) and now it's now covered approx 130,000. Still pulling strong, thanks. I guess there's no point JP replying to this 1) Lbm's tubbies: 130,000 miles

Josh
Get Branners (I'm sure it was him) in on this as he said before that he/they had a Supra with over 250,000 miles on it and it was still on the original turbos. If this is all a lie, feel free to ban me for an hour

James
It may even present Josh with a chance to drive his car instead of post on the forum dedicated to it My car is an NA-TT (purchased as such, didn't source the engine) so I don't know how many miles it has covered nor whether the turbos are stock to said engine etc.

My Supra has now done 79,200 miles but as it was singled for a couple of years you'd have to check with Si (bignum) as to how many miles it had done without the original turbos then calculate it. Still pulling strong and whoopin' ass!
Nic
Factory fitted pair around 6 years car life (50K+km), replacement brand new set around 6 years (40K+km).
Scott
Think mine lasted about 60ishK, can't be sure as I can't remember how many KMs my car had when it was imported. It had 74ish on the clock when I blew them though. Down to my stupidity rather than their reliability though.
Dnk
I think CW knows of a mkiv thats into high miles on the original turbo's, mines nearly 132,000 miles and going strong on original turbos, gearbox, diff, driveshafts and wheelbearings and the engine Edited April 21, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
j_jza80
My uks did 130k miles, at least the last 20k was often at 1.4 bar.
Chris Wilson
I don't see it now, but I know that it did over 300,000 on original turbos, never had the head off, and was on the original auto gearbox too. I think it did Portsmouth to north of Scotland at least twice a week, sometimes more often. Still ran strongly at 300,000 + miles, but the suspension (original....) was pretty tired. DaveR
Still-original J-Specs on 158000km. I forget what the mileage (kilometre-age?) was when I raised the boost. Nearly 3 years ago, anyway. Still good to go!
Ricky49
My Jspec had about 66k on them, when I went single there was some slight damage to one of them but wasn't noticable when driving.
mwilkinson
My car had done approx 96,000 miles on the j spec turbos. Was running at 1.2 bar for around last 2 years. Was driving fine with no known issues. Having stripped the engine now for the single install and rebuild I found that there was a significant amount of play on the turbos. Having seen them I would say they are shot. Strange though as they were pulling hard until I removed them.

Havard
Mileage isn't a true representation of reliability though it it? My car has done 58K miles and i got it with 56K on it. In the time I have had it it's been on boost (2nd turbo) about 15 times. Most of the the time I am pottering about round town looking the shizz..!! If a car has done 300K miles it's been on the motorway and off boost most of it's life. H.
mellonman
my j spec was about 120,000 miles when i noticed they had gone but did have over boost problem spicking in gear change to 1.3 and was running bpu for 3 years before that
mellonman
I hate to say it the supra is a old car now and major parts do need changing when they come of age, if you have a older one crank pullys, turbos, cambelts, coil packs, brake calipar pistons are all start to appear more and more often just to list some
