Chris Wilson
Someone told me that an item I was after was on Ebay with a minimum starting bid of £120 or a £150 buy it now price. By the time I got to go online someone had made a £120 opening bid, and the £150 buy it now option had vanished. I contacted the seller and he couldn't understand why the buy it now had gone. He was still happy to sell at £150, but no longer had the (legitimate) option to do this. Can he reinstate the £150 buy it now price? If so, how please? Thanks. Wez
He could cancel the auction and sell to you at £150, he would have to say the item is no longer available.
Chris Wilson
I think I have actually discovered an honest Ebayer though Just been pointed to this, which has answered my question from the horse's mouth, so to speak, so I seem to have no option but to bid and hope. Cheers. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/questions/buy-it-now.html
sams
it must be different for cars. when i sold my subaru the bidding started at £200 with a £800 BIN, bidding got to £500ish and 36hours before action end someone used the buy it now, which i had £800 in my paypal within an hour lol
cje001
With our auctions if you add a Buy It Now then as soon as someone makes and actual bid 0.99p or £100 or whatever then the BIN will disappear... No idea why Ebay do this but they again they are right c...ts at pretty much everything!!!

In CW's case the product would have already reached its reserve price
neilp9876
Since eBay will charge him 15 in fees try and convince him to sell it to you privately to save some money?
merckx
Since eBay will charge him 15 in fees try and convince him to sell it to you privately to save some money? Obviously not fair for the person who's placed the bid. Treat others as you would like to be treated!
