Matt H
My diesel commuter is in for its MOT next week. It can run a bit dirty and I want to ensure that the emissions are as low as possible when it goes in. I'm looking at additives and came across this, which seems to fit the bill: http://www.5in1power.com/5in1power.com/5in1-diesel-system-treatment.html Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? Advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Ta Matt
Supranature
Theres quite a few products that do similar/same as that, but yes, I have used them. On the day, add to tank which is near empty, add £10 fuel, then go for a blast up the M56 to get it working. The trick with a diesel engine is to make sure its still warm when tested

Which brand additives would you go for? Ta
Supranature
Personally I get mine from a Motor Factor as they tend to be much cheaper tham Halfords/Motor World. They all more or less do the same job tbh. Some recommend the replacement of the fuel filter with a new one, then 100% neat additive in with the filter to do the job properly. dan294
Matt, the company i work for sell a product called Cataclean, a couple of bottles of that should give the car a good clean out. We have had great customer feedback so far. I could do you a bottle or 2 for £12.50, usually £14.95. If you're interested in trying any, let me know. Graham S
What car is it dude? To be honest, give the thing a dam good spanking prior to going for a test, I can get 99.9% of cars through a diesel test by giving it a half mile blast, revving hard in second for example! Just be sure to check your oil level before doing it!

Matt H
Cheers all, I got some stuff from Halfords on Sat. Can't tell any difference but hopefully somethings happening in the C02 department! MOT at 4 and have a good drive to the place so hopefully that should get things warm and running better. Maybe next year!
jagman
Bit late but you can run Kerosine , turbo diesels don't like it due lower S.G , but the MOT tester will think his machine is broken, sorts out dodgy diesels - ha ha
Matt H
Well, the car past one emissions, but failed on some areas of rust! Getting a qoute for some welding work. If it's a lot I think I'll bin the car and get something newer.
