i don't think it is mate, look at the problems we now have due to joining the eurozone, the taxes we pay go to waste over there, and they dictate what happens here.... do you really want someone in washington telling you what is good for your region?

Understood, but although the eurozone defines a few high level laws, the majority decision making is still made at a national and local level - why would the installation of a "world government" necessarily change that?

If the majority of legislation was still delegated to national and regional government, and a "one world government" just focused on fixing those things that are of truely global concern (like overpopulation, ecological issues, fossil fuel usage, etc.), which nations have proved completely unable to fix by themselves, why wouldn't that be a good thing?

we already have the UN for that don't we? what has it actually achieved since it's existence apart from placing sanctions and approving war? why are five of the world biggest arms dealers also the only ones with any real power at the UN?

Agree that the UN is an excellent example of a bad implementation. They are clearly not sufficiently altruistic, neutral or benevolent enough. And raises a good question about whether humans can ever rule in a truly benevolent way.

But your description is also an excellent illustration of why I think a one world government doesn't really matter - if it did get created, it would only ever be able to operate at this kind of level. With the distribution of might and population the way it is at the moment, no one body has the power to unify China, the US and the middle east with any kind of genuine rulership - it would be UN-style sanctions and approvals at the very best, I think.

This is why I wouldn't really worry about a OWG, because even if it manifested in some way, I really don't think it's going to affect "the man on the street". Same way I don't really worry about whether there's really a God or not, as I do not believe it affects my life one way or the other!

5) not irrational - it's fact, what is the current state of the "united nations" ?? it's only function is to serve the interests of anglo/american/israeli governments and nothing else

Once again, you spout your conspiracy crap without looking into the facts. The united nations do a great deal of good around the globe.

Who went to the aid of Haiti during there recent chrisis? Who do you see supplying aid/food/medicine o African countries? These people work in extremely dangerous environments (in Haiti, the UN contingent found themselves under regular attack from locals)

Infact, it's getting to the point where I find your bitter and twisted rants about the west insulting. If you think you'll find a better life elsewhere in the world, be my guest and leave :)

I have to say I agree. There's no reasoning with this guy, only ranting/insults when his theories aren't accepted as out-right fact.

.... that's a rather sweeping statement to make gaz, care to back it up with any factual evidence? i guess you don't like someone challenging your views/ideals - don't be such a bad sport... it's only a car forum.

no it really was a proper response, that's all i ever read from this dude "don't like it go to another place".... it's gotten to the point where it is bla bla bla

Have you got any facts to support this sweeping statement? :)

Plus, if you hate it here so much, why live here? Doesn't that make you fairly dumb?

Slightly disappointed that the little digs back and forth have distracted Penguin from replying to the examples of some of the good work that the UN have done.

Penguin? Would be interested to hear further on your views of the UN, mate?

The biggest ones

1) religious texts warn of the dangers of a NWO/one world government and how it will be headed by the anti-christ/dajjal

2) why there is a need for one government to rule the entire planet

3) will said NWO be working for the interests of the people or the interests of big business?

4) a one world government will limit/stop growth of developing/third world countries to maintain the status quo

5) it'll be full of white men in black suits.

there are many others but

This reads as though the Earth is still flat.

Move on. Globalization has been here a long long time and will only continue.

Politicians & business people get together from around the planet don't you know to try and get the best deals for their respective countries. This will remain the same.

You seem massively paranoid, and frankly it must be actually quite hard being you.

It isn't, it's a comment on your little snipes whenever the conversation takes a turn away from your opinion. Do you not realise that you're doing the typical troll thing of reacting badly before twisting things and accusing everyone else of something that you're actually guilty of?

Anyway, this is boring now. I'm done.
