remove alternator

The belt is held tight by the tension arm and pulley (the only plastic pulley on the front of the engine)

Get a 14mm (i think) spanner onto the nut in front of the pulley and turn clockwise, this should cause the pulley to move to the left and relieve the tension on the belt.

This is all from the top of my head, I've only done it once on my own car so some minor details may be off but thats the general guide to removing the belt.
