dr_jekyll
hello my darlings. im looking for a bit of advice on what head gasket to go for. THE SITUATION. im building myself a na-t mk2 engine to replace my na-t mk1 engine. i will be using a 2jz ge stock head with a ge bottom half runng the lower compression gte pistons. the car will have a wabro pump and denso 550cc injectors. and will be having a map from the legendary 2 bar tuning should i use an oem ge head gaskett that i belive is slightly thinner than the gte gasket or should i use the thicker steel gte gaskett and lower the compression further i dont want to lower it too much if my 550s arnt going to allow me to run the extra boost to make up for the low comp but at the same time i dont want to use the ge gastket and be limited by compression again . all info greafully recived as ever hugs, the dr
Chris Wilson
To get a totally accurate answer you need to measure the head chamber volumes, and the piston volumes, and how far down the bores the pistons are at TDC. then use one of the CR calculators freely available whilst plugging in the two head gasket thicknesses. Otherwise the answer may well be 90% guesswork.
dr_jekyll
90% of your guesswork will be more than accurate enough for me
