Jamesy
I am going to be changing back to a stock TC soon and have been advised to get the stock one flushed thro before fitting. Apparently there's a place in Hailsham that does it - anyone know of anywhere else around here? Tar

garethr
You can do the flush yourself MsdPAadc9fY If you disconnect the return side of the cooler you'll flush the cooler as well, and rather than leave the engine running you can pump out a couple of litres then add a couple of litres, pump out a couple of litres then add a couple of litres, pump out a couple of litres then add a couple of litres... What James is after is fitting a stock tc to his boostlogic trans. My concern is getting a tc of unknown history and it potentially having debris inside. If he then has it fitting the debris will munch his trans in no time. The method you have posted is fine if your looking to flush your trans out,but to do this would mean fitting the tc 1st, then there is still the possibility of the trans becoming contaminated
Chris Wilson
If there's the slightest risk it's had contaminants through it needs lathing open, cleaning out, rebuilding, re-welding and rebalancing.
Jamesy
Thanks Chris. Is there anyway to know for sure? I have been offered one by a forum member who said it was in great condition

dude
Ahh yes please fella Dude is also checking if the stock TC will handle the power ... Like I said Jamesy the PI will have a lot of uprated stuff in it so I would not hold out too much hope. Have you checked on Supraforums to see what they think. BTW I think stock stall speed is abot 2700rpm.

dude
Stock stall would be between 1800-2000 but higher in yours and a stock converter will destroy itself, a PI has a billet back plate, furnace brazed fins and Torrington bearings, the TC WILL take out the trans if implodes, you will have to fit another lower stall PI or this will cost you a fortune and besides the car will drive like a POS with a stock converter in it.
