pedrosixfour
Did anyone happen to see Motors TV and the Targa Newfoundland over the weekend? It wasn't a particularly well put together programme but it did hold my attention a bit longer than I thought it would! Its a rally broken up into a few different disciplines and classes but for the first couple of days a chap by the name of Andrew Picard was leading the modern class in a MKIV He was holding his own against the more likely rally-bred options and even a few Porsches (GT2 & TT 4WD) as well as a Lotus somethingorother. I saw him leave the road only once and was helped/towed back out by another competitor but without any explaination the field then seemed to swallow him up over the last two days and no more was seen of him or the car. pedrosixfour
Have a look at the pictures from 2010 on the Targa Newfoundland website. pedrosixfour
Actually they are the only shot of the car on the Targa website that I can find! Maybe he pissed someone off and they stopped filming/photographing him as a form of punishment. He actually finished fifth in class!

pedrosixfour
Was it a turbo ? looks like an na I can't tell you that, I never heard any turbo related noises from the car as it passed the camera but all that might suggest is that it was a stock TT. When he ended up in the ditch I noticed only one wheel was spinning as he tried to rejoin the road so there certainly weren't any trick parts down that end! RedM
They're faked. Everyone knows you can't drive a Supra in the wet or other slippery conditions or anything other than a perfectly dry day and then only in a straight line.
Blackie
I thought it looked like a v8 conversion personally, You can tell by looking at the picture

marc_p
I thought it looked like a v8 conversion personally, You can tell by looking at the picture Judging by the angle of how the car is landing after the jump, I think it's a 1uz V8. jackso11
from the amount of air it peaked at over the bridge I would say it is 100% a supra replica based on a ford sierra running a jag v8 engine.
ulysees
How?!! The last picture i can see pipes in the bumper grill but no cooler.
Supra Gaz
Its clearly running a V12! You can tell by the colour of the bonnet... Anyway, cool rally car.

RedM
Looking at the tyre pressures it has a VAG diesel lump in it. Fact.
Chris Wilson
cool pictures, unsual car for rally though. rwd can not be pose as an advantage but i suppose it would be fun as hell! Ford Escorts, Cortinas and Vauxhall Chevettes have been some of the most successful rally cars of all time, and all of them are..... Thorin
Looking at the tyre pressures it has a VAG diesel lump in it. Fact. Rubbish, it's clearly a rotary engine.
Attero
I think everyone should shut up... the car is clearly an Impreza. Why would they even bother using a Supra for rallying? Impreza it is!
