Havard
After spending many hours this weekend cleaning the cars I reflected with a well earned bottle of bud and sat on my front doorstep. http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3756/p1000199f.jpg It then dawned on me. I had washed three cars, cleaned 12 alloys, shined 12 tyres, cleaned 15 windows inside and out, removed three wiper arms from the Supe, sprayed them several times and then replaced them etc etc. The black Audi was given the full works as it had not been cleaned inside for 6 months and I drive it every day of the week. The kids had pretty much left all surfaces with some souvenirs of their presence with some delightful half eaten sweets and lolly sticks found down the sides of the seats. I have cleaned and polished every inch of that car, inside the doors and around the hinges etc... I ran out of time before I could give it a HD wax but I polished out a lot of marks that it had picked up lately. I have now sat down and my feet are killing me. It's nice to get all the cars the way I wanted them, my next door neighbour thinks I am mad for spending pretty much all day today cleaning cars... I don't know how Stonkin does it all the time..!! Havard
Job well done I'd say.. That black is looking superb! Also I am in love with the wheels on the supe They came with the car when it was imported. They are Sterns but I don't know which model. The black Audi is my company car and it's a year old this weekend, it doesn't half get some hammer but I am trying to keep it pristine but that's easier said than done. The white Audi is Mrs H's but it goes back to her company in about 6 weeks as she left her job on Friday. I really wanted to clay bar and wax it but there seems to be little point if we aren't keeping it. I cleaned the Supe externally and tried to sort out a couple of things that have been annoying me. I have given the wiper arms about 6 coats of paint as they were rusty and needed a fair bit of sanding back, sorted out the stains on the front lip and active spoiler. The RSR exhaust needed a fair bit of polishing too...!! H.

Havard
All look very nice but think we need some better photos Especially of the soop It was going really dark and I had to uncover the Supe to get that photo. It was just as I sat down with a beer I thought about the pic. I may uncover the Supe tomorrow and take some pics. I haven't taken many since late last year. H. Havard
Well done mate, bet that bottle of bud was the nicest you'd ever tasted It felt good (although I did have a couple whilst working) I wanted to do more but ran out of time. Vicki's car really needs a clay bar and all of the little tar spots removing but it won't be here in 6 weeks so I don't see the point, it is annoying when you kneel down near the wheel arches. How long does it take you to do one car fully Christian? H.
Stonkin
Really hard to answer that question mate as it can totally depend on what car and what exactly is required to be done. But, a supra booked in for a stage 1 detail which would include machine polishing i would want for 2 days. The record i have had a car is the VW Corrado in my garage currently, thats been here for 3 1/2 months But it is being worked on in between jobs and was sat doing nothing on customers drive for many years so doesnt just require detailing but an awful lot of mechanical work so it has been shipped between companies for different jobs. The customer didnt want the hastle of doing this so left everything to me to organise and werent in a huge rush for the car back.
Havard
I just found it massively time consuming. I spent 4 hours on the black Audi. The car was absolutely filthy after doing around 2k miles since it was last washed. I usually do it every weekend but the weather had been crap up until now. After washing, drying off, cleaning the wheels properly, cleaning all the glass inside and out, going around all the plastic trim with autoglym stuff I started on the inside with what I would class as a proper valet. My car was disgusting..!! I got to 8pm and never even got close to waxing it. In fairness I was dicking about with the Supra in between. The white Audi had a decent clean the day before. I need to build up the muscles in my fingers as they are killing me today..!! H.

Havard
Well done Paul. Must be titing yet massively satisfying I am assuming that it was meant to be "tiring"? I am a little pissed off now as all my hard work has gone down the pan. It is peeing it down here and I will have to wash the Audi again if I want to wax it or give it a thorough polish. I don't know why I bother...!! H.

Havard
Looking good! Nice shine on the Audi! Cheers, that was only with a wash and a wipe down with a bit of quick detailer. The car has been HD waxed last summer though.

Hi Chris, Couldn't find the exact model but they look like an early Stern Hyper Mesh II. Mine doesn't have the bolts around the edge though. http://www.maxspeedperformance.com/xcart/home.php?cat=54 I will have another look and see if I can find the exact model. They are Sterns though as it says on the centre caps. H.
