Nic
You need to get the car on a ramp so all the suspension components can be checked for wear. The creaking could be just down to loose subframe or suspension bolts.

Nic
ok guys thanks for the help any ideas regards the suspension level thanks What suspension is fitted, is it height adjustable? Check dampers for leaks, you'll see oil/dirt on them if one has gone. Here is the Toyota Repair Manual - Suspension & Axle it lists torque settings for suspension, ride heights and also troubleshooting any problems. Awisto
Sounds like an anti roll bar drop link may have gone, especially if one minute it's droopy and the next it's not. Shocks only dampen erm shocks, it's the springs that determine where the car sits.
