tomgeer
Best advice is to test drive an auto and see if it suits you.

cje001
Manual for me coz rarer and a more 'involved' driving experience.
XIL007
I prefer the auto, to be honest never had any problems with them
DuaneT.Turbo
I've had both, i find the Manual more fun, and obviously if you like to drift you want a manual.... Auto was good too though, kickdown is good if ya want to floor it, I just like to change my own gears
Havard
Depends on how you like to drive. If you want involvement and and an exciting drive then you have to go manual. If you like to cruise and go on the motorways a lot then the auto is lovely. I have gone from an NA manual to a Tiptronic auto. If the new car wasn't such a good looking car, I would be looking at getting back into a manual ASAFP..!!
Branners
I have had an auto, a manual and a tiptronic. For me the best gearbox is still the auto. The 6sp gearbox means you have to work at it to enjoy it, the gearing is quite short in each gear so if you choose the wrong one then you end up at the top end of the boost or running off boost. I used the overdrive and '2' on the autobox to slow the car down so I had control of what it was doing, and I did a number of track days with it and never had any problems controlling the car in to the corners. The auto is a great gearbox, I would never go back to a 6sp now, there's just no fun in it for me.
