Now i've checked the Camshaft Position Sensors and the Crankshaft Position Sensor. And here is my question: In the TSRM on http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/pages/technical/jza80/a80tsrm.htm it says 1630 to 2740 Ohms cold and 2065 to 3225Ohms hot is OK. But in this thread: click in post 5 in the pictures there are different values. Which ones are the right ones for a 1996 Jspec TT? I got 1330Ohms cold and 1530Ohms hot today and according to the first data the sensor would be gone but looking at the second it is ok... If the sensor is gone i'll order one tomorrow if not i have to continue searching... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
merckx Posted April 8, 2011 Share Posted April 8, 2011 If you just look at the cold resistance 1330ohms and assume that's okay as the engine runs with no problems, I would be more likely to use the values in post 5 as opposed to the others in the TRSM which are too far away. Chris Wilson Posted April 8, 2011 Share Posted April 8, 2011 If you have access to an oscilloscope that's the best way to see if a cam or crank sensor is giving correct and good outputs. The error code readings from a stock ecu are also pretty reliable. Even a momentary lapse should flag a code. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CanisLupus Posted April 8, 2011 Author Share Posted April 8, 2011 I do actually have one. What settings should i use and what should a good signal look like? Didn't have any fault codes :\Â Thing is the car starts cold without any problem and runs fine. When it gets warmer i can hear almost non perceptable and short cut outs on idle and it won't start until it is cooled down again. suprab Posted April 8, 2011 Share Posted April 8, 2011 i recently had the same issue as you, and my crank sensor tested ok, or within spec anyway with an ohm meter.. it still turned out to be faulty. starting fine when cold, once it warms up it cuts out and wont start till its cooled down again. it was about €100 but easy to swap out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
