jon_dragon
Just wondered if anybody has tried getting a drivers seat from a LHD car and using it as a passenger seat? I was talking to the guys at work and they said most cars (especially toyota) use the same wiring loom for all the cars and change as little as possible to convert to RHD (or LHD in our case) so I did a bit on hunting and found these diagrams of the wiring loom needed to make the passenger seat work electronicly like the drivers... This one shows the actual seat wiring loom that plugs into the seat... Which in turn plugs into this part of the vehicle wiring loom... kaahari
Before my new recaros, i had exact this setup, i had euro lhd seats, and i mounted jdm electric seat rail to right side seat, two electric seats Easiest was to wire power from right side seat loom (near seat power connector)then under carpet, behind center console. I tested it with both seats moving at same time, not blown fuse etc edit btw, jdm seat rail & euro seat uses different mount holes (front holes only) so modification was needed to mount seat to rail... because euro seat "leg part" is longer Edited April 8, 2011 by kaahari (see edit history)
jagman
The soarer and supra have interchangeable seats, and the soarer is electric passenger ,which also has the drive forward on seat back fold , I expect with some cunning that you could hybrid the supra cushions and soarer motors and drives and wire loom
