Anyone had their wisdom teeth out? Just thought I’d ask.

I’m talking all four in one hit. Had mine done yesterday. Really wasn’t looking forward to it as I have a phobia of hospitals and blood:D, and so many people kept telling me how much it was going to bleed and how fat my face is going to be ect. Ha I laugh at you all I have very slight swelling on the right side and that’s it:p.

I will be able to bring that thread back up soon “How wide can you go” to see what difference it has made:D

When I had mine done I didn't have any massive swelling or pain neither. I had the left top and bottom taken out and was able to eat normally the next day. I remember there was bleeding a few days after the surgery and I had to clean the hole for a couple weeks and eventurally the gum heal itself.

Most of the pain is when the nerve roots snaps.

Had only the one out last year, no swelling and not much pain to start with, then I got something called Cold Socket which was absolute agony. I think its something to do with the bone in the jaw being open to air and had got infected. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

There now that was a cheery thing to say ! :)

Is that normal egg with bits of dried blood from your mouth mixed in?

I was wondering what scabbed egg was as well!

That sounds more like it! We want pics! :) (just kidding!)

I've only ever had one come through ever so slightly, so fingers crossed I wont ever need them out.

Tbourner take it the breaks are working again now? All six at the dentist – nasty. Well good luck if you do.

No fraid not but thanks to Lee for looking and putting my mind at rest that they won't do anything dangerous.

Going to see Paul tomorrow to check them out - after all he fitted the pads.

Had all four of mine taken out when i was 15, 6 days before my 16 birthday. Bloody yes lots. The two top ones weren't out properly so they had to cut part of my jaw bone out.

Face swelled up nicly, and could only manage soup. Felt a bit grogy after the op would start to watch something on the TV so saw the title then would fall asleep and wake up at the end credits, really fcuking annoying.

Worst part as because i was sleep alot i wasn't spitting the blood out, instead i was swallowing it in my sleep. Had op at midday ish by 8 stomach felt strange went to the toilet to be sick and it was red. This continued for 2 days couldn't keep anything down for more than 30 mins. Lost 8lbs in 2 days ended up going to hospital to have an injection to stop me being sick.

Not an experience i would like to revisit........ though it has ment i can quite happily throw up and not care even when sober :) so something good did come of it.

RobSheffield: Thanks, I thought it was funny:D I’ve just eaten more soup and chocolate:p

Tbourner: I will do and I hope you do get them sorted. It’s so annoying when you go in with one problem and come out with something else. MEN:D

Rosie: I hope not.

Faye: I think you was thinking of frozen shoulder I dislocated my jaw before and it didn’t happen then so fingers cross it doesn’t this time. Plenty of pain killers anti- inflammatory and antibiotics should do the trick I hope

Cashpoint: Sorry to hear how bad it hit you dude. Must have been your male age:p. At least you don’t have to go through with the grief now. Always looking ton the bright side:D

I had all four out as well. Went to sleep that night, in hospital, but I thought my mouth was just watering a lot because of the operation. I woke up in the middle of the night to a very wet face. I popped my light on to find that I was lying on a red pillow soking wet with blood.

The nurses got me off the bed, then the room started to spin, but they managed to get me back on before passing out.

Just make sure you keep your teeth clean even though its a bit uncomfortable brushing the back ones and rinse out well.Otherwise you run the risk of getting the sockets infected...and thats not nice either :(
