Kristian_Wraae
I have swapped in a 2J-GTE into my mkIII Supra. I've noticed that when accelerating the boost rises very quickly (off the MKIII OEM scale which should be more than 0.6 bar - probably around 0.8) but around 4000-4500 the boost falls of slightly (maybe to 0.4 bar) and then rises again. Is that normal? I would say that eventhough the second turbo comes online it should not cause a drop in boost. Maybe no increase but certainly no drop. I have no boost leaks. I think all hoses are connected correctly apart from maybe the pressure tank. I have not been able to figure out excatly which hose goes where. When I bought the engine only one hose was conencted to the pressure tank and the other port was blocked off. Any idea why? Could reversed hoses to the pressure tank cause this? Also some very few times I have the feeling that the second turbo is not comming online as it should. Any suggestions?
Swampy442
Yeah thats normal, you look at any dyno chart of a stock TT and theres a great big dip at around 4k rpm

Guest Carsten
That´s normaly. The system bypasses your boost pressure to spool the second turbo (which causes a slight boost drop)
