How handy are you working on the car mate - I'd try troubleshooting the simpler explanations and attempting a self fix prior to forking out money to a garage. Pads could be one option, but it could be any number of things...droplinks, top mounts etc!?

sori, clicked the post button before i finsihed :innocent: to start with it was just on lock but now u can hear it at slow speeds, only took it to a garage tday as my dad hid my trolley jack n i cudnt find it, well i can change the wheel baring myself, did it on a clio once ;) so id give it a go

If i was you id jack it up and try rocking it back and forth. Also look at droplinks and track rod ends, balljoints, but also at rotary items like the disc and wheel themselves, are they catching on anything?

will have to jack it up tmoro after work n have a look see before i start splashing the cash

Cheek your brake pad retainers are in the right way mate , I had the same thing and it drove me nuts for ages . Turned out when I changed my pads I put them back in upside down which made the pads move in the calliper .

the pads do move and make a clicking noise against the disc, that was my guess but garage said wheel bearing, but ive never heard a wheel bearing make that noise before, only thing is its only started making the noise n the pads have been in there for atleast six months?
