p3te
So my insurance is up for renewal on the 14th of this month so i, like many otheres was phoning around to see if i could get a better deal. Phoned one company (very popular and well reccomended on here) and got a great quote £500 cheaper than my renewal :-O should have accepted there and then but no. Called another company i was reccomended to see if they could compete which they couldnt and have now just received a phone call from the company i got the best quote from by a long way to say unfortunatley they are going to have to withdraw the quote due to another company complaining to markerstudy that their price is too low to compete WTF!! How on earth can they to this this has pissed me off so much so for people getting quotes heres a word of warning. When getting quotes and they as who and whats your best quote dont say! I havnt mentioned any names as i dont want to get in trouble. Rant over:(
Gaz6002
I'd be complaining about that if it was me.
Attero
I thought it was perfectly acceptable to name and shame companies who don't provide a service as you should expect? I say "Company 2" should stop being a whiney little bitch and compete dammit.
p3te
Complain to who? I dont lnow for sure who complained but i5s between 2 companies
Attero
Also, you should not mention who gave you a better quote. You should just scare companies by saying you have a better quote. They can't risk that. If they lose you as a potential customer, they will facepalm themselves.
qwarrior
Depending on their terms and conditions is a quote not valid for 90 days once given under normal statute. Depends on their T&C's though. I'd push it to be honest. You can threaten naming and shaming. I certainly would.
p3te
If i knew who complained id phone them and see what they have to say, the person who contacted me to tel me about having to cancel the quote wasnt happy as well and said its not the first time hes lost business due to companies complaining they are too cheap
BazzaAlpine
Hang on. Doesn't that constitute price rigging? I'm sure companies can get in trouble for that.

I'd agree, it sounds like the guy at the cheap company has screwed up and then used someone complaining as an excuse. That's why he's made a big deal out of sounding annoyed. imo
neilp9876
I'd phone them back and accept the quote. Kick up a fuss if they complain and pretend it wasnt you they spoke too when they phoned back to withdraw the quote. Mention the "The Financial Ombudsman Service" who oversees them, I assume its markerstudy who is the underwriter, take it up with them as well. I totally agree, ring back and really kick up a fuss! its totally out of order and for them to withdraw a quote on that reason seems utterly ridiculous, I personally would be livid!
