jonathanc
Weather was pretty nice today so I went out for a wee drive... while the sun reflected off the windscreen I noticed a lot of fine scratches on the windscreen... Is there a safe method to remove them? They don't seem too deep as only visible if reflected by sunlight...
SupraD06
Could you not machine polish them out with light cutting compound? Then mop over the screen with a polish? Waits to be grilled

T cut? not sure if that would cause more scratches though.

Cos see thru glass is clearly not the in thing in the west mids I guess i had that coming, as i said it was a guess, i just thought that if you can polish out light scratches on paint, and get a mirror finish, then maybe you could polish glass. RobSheffield
Seriously though, there's no way to get rid of light scrathes on glass? Yes, replace the screen is the easiest and safest way. if you cant see through it you cant go so quick! Autowindscreens etc will be around £900 fitted, Toyota are around £300 supplied, get autowindscreens to fit for around £
jonathanc
Ah missed the link on top... machine polish glass .... :S Halford sell a windscreen repair kit too i think. It's not too bad I won't notice it unless there's reflection or glare so surface scratches i think. Might speak to the stealership after all I've just bought the car. Also a lot of tiny specs which I presume was from the teflon coating they applied to the paintwork.

There's heated windscreen for the sup? o.0 nice... It's not for a Supra tho I would love to buy one but parking space in my new house is very tight. No space to park even on the street lol. Scott
It is for a Supra. He had them made specifically for it. You can machine polish the scratches out of the glass. There are good pastes that do it. I wouldn't recommend just going at it though, you really need to know what you are doing with these things

I will have a chat with my dealer and see what he says. Funny how they avoid you like a plague after handing the money over
Scott
I have to laugh that you have any faith in a dealer whatsoever. They don't have the slightest clue about anything that involves detailing a car.
Tricky-Ricky
I have removed scratches from my screen using a polisher and compound before now with no problems, basically the same as polishing paintwork, you can even use fine wet & dry, rather do it myself than trust a dealer/garage any day.
