suprafan72
How good are Stock Oil Pumps..? I'm just doing a 1000 bhp + Readyness check list and wondered how the stock oil pumps match up to this sort of horse power
hodge
It's a tough 1 that Andrew. Your car was running over 800 hp in Japan without an issue. I'm running a PHR pump but I know other big power supras are using stock pumps.
Tricky-Ricky
The PHR pump is no different to the std pump other than it has the drain aperture opened out to about 6.5mm instead of 4mm. I actually don't know of any other after market pumps.
sideexitsupra
Paul and Steve run STD pumps on their Whifbitz race cars. Paul had one let go at Cadwell last year taking the sump out with it and depositing fragments all round the engine. However he replaced it with another stock unit. He has had his car over 1000 BHP at one time and it was still stock pump then. Hope that helps.
JamieP
Stock oil pump ftw, the PHR ones are only modded to reduce oil pressure to supposedly minimise the risk of FMS failing.
Chris Wilson
Dry sump it, it's only money
