Twin intercoolers

Nope....not seen it done

I understand you would drop too much pressure if you go for twin IC's? Though I could do with naturally dropping a couple of PSI.

Can you turn a stock IC round and mount it in the other side, then just get some new piping?

Perfectly feasible and sensible. My new OE style intercoolers based on a current state of the art core, but all aluminium, will be available in the next 2 weeks, I am now seeing a large number of totally knackered stock units, and feel most FMIC's are working poorly due to old fashioned cores, masking by the bumoer, and the fact they badly impede engine cooling, especially on track days. i could make a unit to go in the other aperture if required.

That's what I mean't....

Routing the pipes might be hard. May want to consider moving the battery to the boot?

Chris,

Sounds very good, Your new OE style intercoolers based on a current state of the art core, but all aluminium, will they perform better than a brand new stock IC and if two (One in each pod) could be used together will this be sufficient to cope with Hybrids Turbos.

one for each turbo

Not a good idea and the pipework would be a nightmare. My idea behind 2 intercoolers is that the compressed air from the first intercooler would be re-routed at the elbow behind the radiator to go through the second intercooler before coming back up to the throttle-body.
