hodge
Hi guys Does anyone have a diagram for plumming in 2 external wastegates please. Thanks John
Chris Wilson
Motec have a digram, will try to find it. Here it is: http://www.chriswilson.tv/motec.pdf Edited March 31, 2011 by Chris Wilson (see edit history)
hodge
That looks to be for a single wastegate chris. I need 1 for twin waste gates.
Homer
Isn't it the same as for a single WG, but you T the feed and exit lines to the BC and boost reference?
Homer
Modifed an old MS paint file, see pics. Single wastegate: Twin wastegate: Unless you're referring to Johnny g's twin/twin setup?

Yep, it's for mine! Would it be as simple as a wastegate per turbo, then T'd to the reference?
hodge
Got it Daryll thanks mate. I'll just use the vac reference from turbo 1 for both waste gates to make life a little easier.
hodge
Johnny I think I need to order some more T-pieces lol

hodge
Is it really necessary to use a vac reference from both turbos??

hodge
The turbo kit only has 1 vac reference point and that was on 1 of the intake pipes which I didn't like so I drilled and tapped the compressor housing from turbo 1.
Homer
Is it really necessary to use a vac reference from both turbos?? Not sure on that, is there a link between the two collector branches or are they standalone manifolds? My thinking is that if they are standalone (as the pics appeared to indicate) it would need a balanced pressure reference from both turbos to ensure complete balance. In theory it shouldn't be any different, so if it's safe to assume both turbo's are working exactly in balance then only one pressure reference is needed from a turbo. hodge
They are separate manifolds Daryll yes. I only ask this because these have been ran before with only 1 reference from 1 of the intake pipes. It's not a problem run a vac reference to both turbo, the only issue is the pipe on turbo 2 will be very close to the manifolds and I want to avoid this if possible. Wez
I would run a single reference from a common path for both wastegates.
