DodgyRog
This is the original thread to compare the fish sizes http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?189989-Fish-tank-update-with-pics-of-some-new-fish&highlight=fish+tank Anyway a few pics of how they look now, unfortunately it's now impossible to have real weed as they rip it to shreads in 24 hours and it then cloggs up the filter Red Severum or sometimes called Fire Severum, they are a bit bigger than my hand now, so getting close to being fully grown Tapajos and he's about 5 inches now, so still growing And the tank in general, we have just got hold of a couple of other fish from the Severum family, but they are hiding away at the moment, due to them being so small, theres also 9 large Clown Loach the biggest being around 10 inches, a Leopard Catfish and a mix of Plec's

DodgyRog
I know it sounds daft, but the Severum are pretty cool, you can see they watch you when you are near the tank, they always seem to be trying to work things out, in fish terms there quite intelligent
The-Plethora
Nice setup, I used to have a 2foot by 1foot setup, nothing as exotic as yours though. How does your setup filter it all? do you have an under gravel filter? I found that whilst it looked amazing it took a lot of looking after to keep clean. I am not a fan of under gravel filters, I don't really see the point in making all the crap go into the gravel, I run a Fluval FX-5 external filter and I clean it about every 2 months, basically when it slows down or stops filtering the smaller particles The trick to keeping tanks clean is filtration, always have a much bigger filter than you need and also I have an Air pump running all the time, this is really helpful in my tank as I can't have weed Put the can of Diet Coke there as a size comparison
Tricky-Ricky
As a fellow fish keeper i hope you don't mind me jumping on the bandwagon:) Love the Severum, and the Geophagus by the way. Hers a few of my Rift lake set up, Not great pics I'm afraid, must take some recent ones as these are about a year old and the Red Empress in the last pic are stunning now, I also use an FX-5 on my other tank, great filter. pistonbroke
I'd love to get in on the tropical fishkeeping bandwagon. However, my inlaws bought my son a silly little puny toy tank with goldfish in 18 months ago. I've spent so much time and effort on the little blighters now that I've grown attached to them. Seeing as they can live for over 20 years, it doesn't look like I'll be getting tropical fish anytime soon. As I used to keep fish years ago, I knew about goldfish needing much more room than most people think and told my wife that we need a bigger tank. Catfish man very kindly gave me a 90ltr tank he was no longer using. Thing is now, they have now outgrown this tank, so I'm looking to upgrade again.....the filter also can't keep up with the amount of crap they produce. I've been looking at at the fluval 240ltr, just waiting for one to come up fairly local on aquarist. Oh, and I bought a couple of these the other day..... http://www.seriouslyfish.com/images/Garra%20flavatra3.jpg They are garra flavatra loaches, tough enough to live with goldfish and uber efficient glass cleaners. They cleared my whole tank in 2 days despite being supplimented with algae flakes.......greedy blighters.
