mellonman
Hi what does the car do when a knock sensor is triggered? does it put out a error? go into limp mode?
Tricky-Ricky
No it runs a set timing retard (knock map) until knock is no longer detected.
mellonman
so if you had a piggy back it would also retard the timing on that? if so could you retard the timing to a point where you could damage your engine?

Basically the FIC adds or subtracts the timing its programed with after the std ECU, so whatever is + or - will stay when the STD ECU runs the default timing map (retard) So in theory it could be possible to retard things enough to perhaps cause a noticeable running problem IE sluggish, but i guess its also possible to see det caused by too much retard on boost, but i can't see it happening in practice.
