tbourner
Scary how powerful nature can be when it's angry. Absolutely nothing we can do to stop it when it really means business. _b-2iByqHVI
merckx
It must've been absolutely terrifying.

tbourner
I wouldn't fancy standing where they were anyway. Then again running to the car and trying to get out of dodge wouldn't be much fun either!! From this: To this: in 5 mins.
Bobbeh
Crazy vid! There are loads on all over youtube... just goes to show what little chance anything has in its wake.. unless you're way above ground!
Charlotte
I saw this the other day. It's so scary. I couldn't really gauge how tall the building is that the camera person is standing on - I wondered if it was the same height as the one with people standing on top opposite? Just putting that out there.
Bobbeh
"in its wake": A track, course, or condition left behind by something that has passed The tornado left ruin in its wake Makes sense to me, thanks for pointing it out though
SupraDan24
Google Mega Tsunami for a good read on how powerful a body of water can potentially be, Krakatoa springs to mind.
KamaSupra
It's crazy, I can't imagine how scary it must be to see it happen. It would be hard to know where to run to
Abz
How that person recording it remained so calm is beyond me. Apart from a little yelp, he was completely quiet! It is extremely scary watching that video, who would have thought that much damage would have been caused in a few minutes by the very substance we drink everyday. I know water is strong and mass is high but that video just shows how strong, the way it throwed them cars as if they were toys. I honestly wish them the best, I really wish they make a good recovery.
Nick
I drove up to Iwate the week before it happened and saw a lot of the towns that were wiped out from the highway. I thought the quake was bad enough in Tokyo. To suffer an even stronger quake and then have that come at you to finish the job...
j_jza80
This thread, and the one about 'Everything and nothing' has really got me thinking about how powerless our race really is. Nature, and the universe as a whole could quite easily 'sweep us under the carpet' and there's very little we could do about it.
