Silece2k6
Can anyone explain the meaning of the yellow oil lamp? Has that got anything to do with the oil level? And this red next to the battery?
CanisLupus
The yellow oil lamp is the Oil level low warning. The one next to the battery is the Cat Temp warning.
Tyson
The yellow oil lamp is the diff oil level and the red one is the engine oil level. As said the red one next to the battery is the cat temp warning light.

dangerous brain
Diff temp light on UK specs? Is that because they have such bigger more powerful turbos?
Tyson
Diff temp light on UK specs? Is that because they have such bigger more powerful turbos? The diff oil cooler on a UK spec is operated by a temperature sensor which is not present on JSpecs. This is why they do not have a diff temp light because the temp sensor is not present. The oil cooler was simply there to prolong the life of the diff not because they are "more" powerful. Tyson
I have just looked in my manual and it uses the same lights as the Jspec but in the right cluster has an additional light that simply says DIFF OIL when the temp gets too high.
Nic
ah I see. UK's are more powerful though that's why we have bigger brakes and 4 pots up front More J-specs were fitted with the larger brakes UK's have smaller heavier turbines
