supRo
Saw them running at the Japshow-Santapod. I was really impressed with their performance. My fave car at the show (After the Supra of course ) There was one with the 1JZ-GTE engine!
Homer
They're beautiful cars, they have a very cool 'retro' look IMO. There some guy in the states (Darius) that has one with a supercharged Chevy in it, amazing looking and stunning performance. If I had the money (Half decent ones cost a fortune now) this is one of my top cars to start a project on.
nuttynutz
They're beautiful cars, they have a very cool 'retro' look IMO. thats because they are retro, early 70's. wouldnt mind one of those, arent they like 200bhp standard? and they definatly hold its value if they in good condition

garethr
I think they were 150 bhp, no wonder the Americans stopped buying MGBs. As has been pointed out before... styling cues from the E-Type / MG and Ferrari. There's a 1JZ engined one in Bristol. I'm hoping to have a good look at the car at a TIF meet in September. Can't beat power AND "old-school cool", like a budget version of the modernised Jag that was on Top Gear last Sunday.
Guest 240jz
Just had this thread pointed out to me by garethr, is nice to see my car picked out! Ran on the day, but wasn't too happy, was my first ever go, but managed a 13.3, has ran a 12.56 by the previous owner in oz, and it should be even quicker now. Looking forward to having another crack at it later in the year currently at 14psi it has 324 hp at the hubs @5669 rpm and 325 ft/lb torque @ 4663 rpm. If you want some more info/specs just let me know

Getrag
The 240Z/Darius vids almost started my car obsession. That vid of the Z spinning up its tyres at 60+ -amazing.

BigRoy
Love the 240Z, very sexy car. IMO the 240 and the 300 are stonking looking cars, 280 sucked and the 350 is a great car for the money but looks bland IMO.

DaveN
Given the subject, here's the before and to be finished example of my other petrol obsession aside the supra. A SWB Ferrari 250GTO Replica based on a tunned 1974 240Z. www.ferrari250gto.co.uk Might be a bit tempting when finished to see if Chris Wilson could get a mk4 TT engine into it ..... SkyJawa
How does it look bland? Its pretty individual looking IMO, sexy as Maybe, but has its ass handed to it on a plate by GTR's and Supra's Personally think it has an awful rear, like a big fat ass. Even worse on the new roadster model......

Great car, test drove one when they came out. Just doesnt have the wow of a 240 or a 300, looks like a Audi TT to me.
Guest 240jz
Thanks for the interest I am genuinely surprised, but chuffed about the attention the car gets, I did take the easy route though, and bought the car almost done. It was a poject car for 'Zoom' magazine in australia, and I bought it from the guy who did the set of articles. If you want a read (and it is a long read!) you can go to http://www.blkmgk.com, and click pics, and then 1jz in 240z. It isn't my website btw, so hope the guy doesn't mind the traffic! I have just got the brake bias sorted, got new custom driveshafts, to replace broken skyline shafts, got some further tuning done, and put in new suspensions bushes to increase camber and castor, fixing blown intercooler etc. I'm now looking at changing the dump pipe, but looks like I'll need some fabrication, anyone know a good place near bristol that can do mandrel bending for stainless exhausts?
