V
I’m in need of some new tyres but only seem to be able to source 3 different makes. Falken FK-452 £133ea Toyo Proxes T1-Sport £186ea Michelin Pilot Sport 2 £249ea Front: 235/45/17 Rear: 265/40/17 I’ve got the 452’s at the moment and had them before and been ok, but this set has lost all its grip and I’ve still a few mm left. I’ve had it twitch a few times and the traction light flicks on quite easily. I had the 1st generation of the Toyos proxes T1 which were good but picked up every stone, albeit the tread (and probably the compound now) has totally changed. The Pilots just seem average in performance and don’t seem to justify the extra £260 for the set. Has anyone had the Toyo’s or know of any others please? Many thanks Stephen

Guest hamiltonsupra
I have a feeling UNIROYAL RAINSPORT 2 come in that size, may be worth a check (circa 140?).
V
Good reviews. only found then in 20" for 265's but am looking.
TTRickeh
Try blackcircles and mytyres if you haven't already. Tesco have a thing with blackcircles too so you can get double clubcard points if you have one. They have Toyo T1-R's for 132 fitted. TTRickeh
There's a bigger selection for 255 width tyres which is the stock size
V
I'm not stock but i'll check the wheel size to see what fits.
conan
V, Ive identical sizes all round and had the same problem finding a rear set, I settled with paying £250 for a rear pair of 452's from ATS fitted balanced etc. Wish they did Yoko Parada spec 2's in this size. Westy
I'm having a similar problem deciding!? My car currently has 4 x Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tyres and they are discontinued now!?!?!? They still have some life in them but dont know what tyres are on par with these!?
Abz
Have you thought about Vredestein? I went to them after having continental sports. They were a huge improvement. Well priced and very good wear rate too. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vredestein/Ultrac-Sessanta.htm
V
Vredestein dont the sizes for me. I found some Pirelli. Rosso front Coras rears but the Rosso read awful. Toyos seem best i think via mail order and get them fitted.
Dnk
I'd be going down to 255 x 40 x 17 as theres far more choice and as said have a look on camskills website Edited March 31, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)
