Guest trouble
SO I was driving my supra back from Scotland yesterday and suddenly my temerature gage went right round into the red, white steam started pouring from out of my bonnet and there was a puff or pop sound from the front end. Pulled over turned off the car, opened the bonnet and couldnt see for steam. Once steam had cleared noticed that brown water was everywhere. Let the car cool down and took cap off the radiator which then lead to more steam. Let this cool down some more and then started topping it up with water as there clearly was none. The water was then pissing out the bottom of the car and leaking out a crack (crack is marked with arrow 1 in picture) Before I began my journey home there was water dripping from the front of the car, but when taking off the silver cover (cover is marked with arrow number 2) the overflow bottle was loose and covered with water. Mechanic fitted this back on and there was no more water so thought it was fine. I know I need a new rad but Im not sure where the problem would have come from.....any ideas??? Gaz6002
The radiator usually pops because there's an unusually large build-up of pressure in the coolant system, so it sounds like either your rad was blocked or another part of the system was. Get a stainless rad on there (nice and easy to fit), bleed the system and see what it's like then.

I'd second that and go for a complete cooling system flush and get rid of the crap that may be there.
Dnk
Seized rad cap not letting the water out into the expansion tank perhaps When you change the rad i'd fit a new thermostat while your at it Edited March 28, 2011 by Dnk (see edit history)

Gaz6002
Personally I'd give someone like SRD a call and speak to Lee about one of his. That way you know it'll be a great fit (Lee only works with Supras). His prices are very good too.

I'd take that over a Ebay jobby anyday, alot less hassle in the long run
