Todd
For the past few weeks I get a clicking noise coming from the rear end of the car, def from around the wheel area. I thought it was bearings but the noise only appears after you start moving and have applied the brakes, if you slow down without brakes and drive slowly you'll hear nothing? brake, stop and drive off and click click click up to about 10mph then it's gone. I just changed the discs and brakes all round in the past couple of weeks (noise was there before) and the rear shoes are badly worn, I'm hoping it's related to this but open to advice I thought it may be the rear shoes self adjusting.....talking mince now
Paul
Might be what I had when I did my rear discs. When I removed them the metal retainer on the shoes for the handbrake sprung out as I took off the old discs. When I put the new discs on I tweaked it to what I thought was the original shape yet I hadn't gone far enough and the disc type retainer that locks the shoes in fouled very slightly. This is difficult to explain but it was the angled rod that is the pivot point for the shoes, opposite end to the adjuster bit Paul
Todd
I think!!! I followed that I'll order new shoes up anyway and see if they make a difference, it's just htat the noise was there before I changed the discs?

Dale B
I just changed the discs and brakes all round in the past couple of weeks (noise was there before) and the rear shoes are badly worn, I'm hoping it's related to this but open to advice Did you change the anti-rattle / squeal shims at the same time or are they the old ones re-used. Mine did exactly as you described a few weeks ago ... spend £20 at Mr T for a shim pack ... all gone now

Chiefgroover
One more option to check, I has this recently after changing discs on the rear. Turned out in my case to be the spring retainer posts had stretched when the discs came off the top washers where rubbing on the back of the studs and marking them quite a bit. I reshaped them some (made them shorter) and the problem went away. Good luck.

Sounds the same as what I did, worded clearer though Paul
Todd
Thanks for the suggestions, I know the rear shoes were knackered so I'll go down the route first but are the shoes the same for all the supras or different for Jap/UK Turbo N/A? Thanks Again Todd
