little num
Camera's are the least of your problems if you have booked at bedford, they are so strick with noise limits you get no chance to make it quite. If you go out and say do 3 laps then get black flagged then your going home. So make sure your car is very very quite NO second chance's there. shima60
If you want something really cheap and useful that you won't mind if it breaks get a keychain camera. I use them on my Model helo's and put them on the front of the car works really well. Granted its not as good quality as a go pro but for £10 can't really go wrong. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/mini-spy-camera-video-recorder-key-chain-car-cam-dv-DVR-/220760075782?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item3366536e06
Chris Wilson
Go Pro Hero HD or the older none HD one. I found it hard to tell the difference in quality when we had the two working on the same car. To get better quality would apparently cost a LOT more. As for Bedford you need a stock exhaust, or if you are feeling VERY lucky a Tanabe Medallion Touring. I have several superb stock cat back systems but they would need collecting. Have a good and safe day
James
Another good device is actually the Zoom Q3 HD. It is actually more of a musicians product as it focusses as much (if not more) on sound. It has a high quality dual condenser microphone arrangement which records at 24 bit/96kHz (much higher than CD quality). This is done in conjunction with a full HD video recorder (records up to 1080p HD at 25Hz, though also does 720p at 50Hz). It has a threaded bottom so that it can be mounted onto a stand of sorts for stability. The Go Pro and such may be better for video (I haven't read up on them) but the Zoom is fantastic if you want the best sound quality to be captured to go with your video
SteveL
Neil, if you can get to Bedford before the trackday or before booking, they will do a sound test to make sure you're ok. Just give them a call to say youre coming down.
little num
Dont buy the keyfob camera i had 2 and anything past 100mph they went all jumpy as if they couldnt cope with the information. I had 2 on the dash and both did the exact same thing, but did work well under 100mph.

As i say i only used mine really for the model helo's. i've put it on the 4x4 to test it but that can't go over 55mph luckily in the car i have a car pc with a webcam hooked up haha. scotty71
These have been discussed before a while back.... not bad for the price I suppose, and if you trash it so what.... 4:3 image is a bit primative now though. I will try find the thread Another good device is actually the Zoom Q3 HD. It is actually more of a musicians product as it focusses as much (if not more) on sound. neilp9876
Cheers for the replies. I took the car up there when it had a hks silent on it and it failed the noise test. It has a Tanabe on it now so I was confident it would be fine, I'm not as confident anymore. I will take a look at the various cameras, the older gopro ones are quite cheap but it needs a bit of investigating.
