Branners
whats actually gone? Does it make any sound at all? You can wreck an electric aerial if its frozen and you start the car up. But normally all that does is strip the teeth off the aerial insert. If theres noise then theres a chance its just the aerial insert gone.. dil
Well got the aerial unit out, realized there was the chrome nut thing on the outside of the car that had to be un-done. Branners there's a major grinding nose coming from the aerial unit when I turn the stereo on or off any ideas? also made a trip down to halfrauds to see about a new unit, the one's they had were twice the size in length in comparison, so it looks like a trip to toyota for a new one, I think i'm about to get ripped off:( anyone replaced there's with anything else other than a toyota one? cheers
Bobbeh
A lot of people in the US replace their Celica aerials with an S2000 aerial. I dont know if its possible with the Supra tho.

Ibrar Jabbar
Chances are you have stripped the nylon teeth from the aerial insert, new insert/rod is £24.50 Part# T86337-14411. If you need instructions on removing and fitting let me know, It's very easy to do.
dil
I think I've completely fcuk'd it , thought something inside the unit may have become dislocated so decided to open it up, next thing as I 'm pulling the black back and front parts of the unit apart, this long nylon (I presume this is what you mean Ibrar) with teeth on it comes flying out. Ibrar do I need unit know, or is this the bit that i need to replace, if so can you e-mail/pm the instructions on how to do so please. thanks
