DodgyRog
Got the car back and bad new it failed. The failure was the offside rear brake pipe was corroded and the brake strip light doesnt work, so to say its been sat in a garage for 3 years and under a cover for 1 year it didnt do that bad All i need to do is get the parts and replace them. If you mean the strip light in the middle above the Toyota badge, as far as I know it doesn't have to work, some Supra came out the factory with dummy ones. You might want to check if the wiring is there, if nothing else just cover it in tape before taking it back for a retest DisclaimerWell I think I remember reading that on here anyway about the dummiesDisclaimer

If you go back in to the garage that did the test, ask them to prove its wired in! They won't so they can't fail it. Basically they can only fail it if they can see it wired in and still doesn't work. Or just tell them it isn't a brake light its a dummy for a UK car. garethr
http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s01000201.htm Additional stop lamps fitted and connected must be tested. Where extra lamps are fitted and there is doubt as to whether they are connected, the benefit of this doubt should be given to the presenter.
