David P
If you can't get one, try one from an N/A then we shall know the answer to this? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?241626-T.T.-N-A-ICV-s
Parry_10
ive got an na one off my na engine but I would of thought they wouldnt be interchangeable
David P
They look identical to me and fit perfectly too, it's only 2 screws, try it and see. The only difference I can think there could be is a stronger solenoid to resist the boost pressure?

David P
Have you tried the N/A valve?
Parry_10
nope cant get it off the screws are too tight and are just rounding off
David P
They are bu**ers to get out, I use a small pair of mole grips from the side to crack them, then undo with a screwdriver. Refitting with little allen head bolts, 6p each from the local Ironmongers. I have measured both today, and the dimensions and reach are the same with both, they are a perfect interchangable fit and the electric sockets are the same. The difference could be the power of the solenoid, or Mr. T. just getting frisky with part numbers, stick it on and see. Also maybe there will be a sparky minded member who could tell you how to test for this.
Swampy442
Dont they just unbolt with a pair of 10mm bolts?
Parry_10
12mm bolts on tt but seem to be screws on an na for some stupid reason
David P
I think it's because the T.T. valve has to resist boost and needs a better nipping up than the N/A that is only resisting suck. The thread sizes are the same so any difference can't be demanding, just a better fixing because it needs it. Have a go and find out, it will be useful information for future reference. Parry_10
yeh i mean the screws are stupid because they round off easily as they are on tight imo they should have used something like the allen key ones you changed them to
David P
Is this problem N/A ICV on a car or on the bench?
David P
I dropped and broke the T.T. ICV I was using for my supercharger build. Here's a pic of an N/A ICV on a T.T. ICV flange, on this untested installation it is located in vacuum like an N/A.
