scooby_doo_do
Hi Chaps, Bit of an odd one but hoping someone will be able to provide me some suggestions.. I decided to make a nice big pond last October and got as far as digging a hole, underlining/lining it and filling it up with water. I have the filter/pump/uv light and air thingy all plumbed in and working.. Pond size is 18ft long, 14ft wide and 6.5ft deep. So far so good, but now i'm stuck on how i actually do the edging of the pond? (it's been left at the moment with the liner being held in place by a few bricks).. Was thinking just dumping quary rocks round it to hold the liner in place, or paving it.. but i don't know really where to start.. any help/thoughts greatly appreciated. thanks Craig. ronttuk
trim it up then you can cement slabs blocks or rocks around it but try no to let the cement touch the water or let any fall in it rises the PH of your water

Tricky-Ricky
If you want a natural look, get some large sandstone rocks and edge say a third of it and maybe pile them up into a waterfall to run the filter outlet over (lined underneath), i didn't use any cement on mine, and just take turf up to the edge over the liner,of the rest, dependent on the situation, otherwise go with paving if you want a formal look. Chris Wilson
Yes, paving for a formal look, but tricky to do neatly on irregularly shaped ponds.
