The Raven
THATS the root cause of Britains problems. Bleeding heart liberals demanding votes for criminals, not clamping down on immigration etc etc Shhhhhhhhhhh your not allowed to say that or you will be branded as a BNP loon. hogmaw
Moan moan moan. You lot should just get on with living your own lives instead of peeping and bitching about your neighbours. So what is someone has a new kitchen. So what if someone else has a paved driveway. Just get your head down and live your life the way you want to. Bitterness, jealousy and keeping up with next door (employed or unemployed) is a waste of time and energy and should not make a blind bit of difference to how YOU want to live YOUR life. The-Plethora
I have a mortgage and it's tough making ends meet, but if I lost my job I would be stuffed and would lose my house and probably not be allowed any money for a few months. I was going to use the words "entitled to the money" there, you are only entitled if you have paid in to the pot in the first place IMO. That word entitlement is the problem, a lot of people think they are entitled to this money without doing anything for it. I am still suprised they don't give benefits in the form of vouchers, why cant they have that so you can buy the essentials at tesco or whatever and have childcare vouchers. Thse vouchers would not be redeemable against 20 lambert and cans of stella. I do feel bad for the people genuinely in need for the money who appear guilty by association though, times are tough. Abz
The best thing about this thread & working people like us, after all this moaning.... No one will do a thing about it and go on with their everyday routine.
Biguns
Well i may do mate , fucked off working when I could have zero stress and sit at home all day and look after my daughter which is costing me over £1200 a month in child care fee's
Paul
You chose to have a kid, enjoy as I'm sure she's worth every penny and stop whinging as most of us are in the same boat. While dossing on the dole might seem attractive there is no room for improvement and it'll teach your kids to live life the same way which ain't a good thing. The-Plethora
Surely there is a difference in having kids because you want kids rather than you want kids to get a house, and whilst that sounds a bit Daily Mail, it does happen.
RobD
I've worked since I've left school, finished on the Friday started on the Monday, I moved to Cambridge in 2007 and took me 6 months before I got a job here, they were possibly the most boring 6 months of my life! Going to the job centre, scanning local papers, agencies etc. I'd never go back to that! It does annoy me that a lot of people choose to sit around all day instead of working but tbf I don't tend to notice as I'm usually to busy to care! If they want to spend there lifes rotting then let them, as long as your doing what you want! Some choose work some don't, they might have a new kitchen a big tv etc etc but do they own the house where there nice things are? Probably not! As long as you live and your happy that's all that counts, I don't earn alot but what I do get I know I've earnt every penny, which in turn means I can feed/cloth/look after my daughter and other half, to me that's the most important thing
XIL007
i think we should scrap the benefits for all and start a fresh. Minimal state support for up to two children, and basic housing provided at a minimal level, lets give these people some incentive to get back to work. creative
I have a mortgage and it's tough making ends meet, but if I lost my job I would be stuffed and would lose my house and probably not be allowed any money for a few months. Thats what your mortgage insurance is for. I lost my job due to redundancy and I was able to claim on my loan insurance to pay for the mortgage. I would have been stuffed without it!! I had 6 months off work due to not being able to find a job and found it tough going but I was still able to have sky etc
