Looks like my Supra dreams are slowly deflating :(

Get some quotes tomorrow and go from there mate :)

They are not cheap cars to run, both the NA's and TT's are bullet proof of you buy a half decent one, but consumables can cost a lot of money if there is a major problem (always buy the best base car you can afford). Tyre's for stock wheels are not all that expensive for good brands, about £400 a set. Brakes ARE expensive. Servicing is no more than any other car.

Single turbo's that thirsty?

This forum is pretty busy, every time I make a reply there's one or two new ones lol

Well, when you are pushing 500bhp+ it will be a little thirsty on WOT. ;)

Though some single owners has managed 30mpg on motorway trips.

This forum is busy compared to some I use

I could buy one and sit in it doing the usual kids thing, WARRRRRRP TISH POP BANG PSSSSSSSSHTTTTTTTTTTT ( )

I'll get some quotes on Thursday as I've got work tomorrow and wont really have time, not sure what model would be best for me to try quotes on, any help there? Keep in mind the poor postcode and 2 years NCB.

As I've said though, until I sort myself out with a proper job its just a dream for now, the price of tyres is scary (4 Yokohama Parada Spec 2's cost less than half of 2 tyres for a Supra by the looks of things) dare I ask how much discs and pads are?

ABZ, just looked at your Supra "Max speed - 165" they do them speeds as standard?

Discs and pads are around £500 using OEM discs and decent pads. They don't need changing very often though, discs will normally last around 50k miles. As mentioned, just buy a good one in the first place, it could save thousands in the long run.

With regard to a quote, try for a 95 RZ auto valued at £7k (aka TT) and 95 SZ 5spd valued at £3.5k (aka NA), it should give some comparative quotes.

£500 :faint: certainly something to take into consideration, doesn't put me off much haha.

I now see membership due under my name, does this forum require payment for the posting privileges?

Money well spent the membership bud

I'm sure it is but I'm a tad skint at the moment :( do I have to pay up or is it optional? I don't mind paying (depending on the price, seeing as I don't have a Supra yet lol ) as I'm already a club member on 4 other Vauxhall websites

just park it on the drive, grab the steering wheel and wiggle it about a bit while leo does some Single turbo sound effects :D

Not to put a downer on the whole subject, but....

The insurance will be the first hurdle. These cars are cracking on, and are expensive (relative to what you consider expensive of course) to maintain. If you think ownership might be too expensive for you, then it more than likely will be. If you dont have much disposable income then be prepared to make some sacrifices

What sort of budget did you have in mind for a car.... if you dont mind me asking that it?

On my current income I could only just afford the brakes and I'd have to starve for a month, so its fair to say I have no budget at the minute as I cant afford it, one day though.

Anyway I'm tired now and not sure if I can post much more so I'll be back and I'll pay up on friday :D

Sounds like you have similar spare cash to me, i have an NA :( all i do is put £200 a side as soon as i get paid each month incase anything goes wrong, if it doesnt then at the end of the month i will buy something for the car, this month was KYB AGX shocks, last month was Mines ECU, TBH parts arnt always that exspensive, especially when people like Keron sell really good used parts. The thing that does hurt is the MPG, motorway is fine, but round town im lucky to get 17mpg.

Insurance for me at 30 with full no claims, no accidents is just over 700, but i'm in Bolton, the scum of the north.

cough cough!!!! Erm Neil think Heywoods worse ha im 25, 7 yncb fully comp im paying 800

So your paying less than a hundred more than me, yet i have atleast 5 years more experience and no claims aswell as history of performance cars lol, i would say that makes Bolton fairly bad IMO
