Insuring your Supra

Seeing as my dream car is a Supra I'm interested to know how much you pay to insure yours, at the moment I have 2 years no claims I'm 24 but live in a crappy area, when I get my Nova out it will be about £800 with all mods declared although I think that was with the standard engine in and not the modded one.

Also, some insight on what they're like on fuel/tyres/servicing.

Obviously as there are variations of N/A, single and twin turbo tell me what you have along with the insurance and general running costs :)

Thanks.

That's pretty good info, and not a bad price £1040 would probably be more for me due to the postcode. Tyres are fucking expensive :-O what brand have you got on? 32 MPG is pretty good too, I may get a little bit more out of my Nova driving like a granny but probably not much.

EvinX knows a good deal when he sees one..!!

This subject has been done to death Mr SR. I would pick a few names out of the insurance threads and give them a call. There are too many to list IMO.

I had a feeling someone would say it had been done, sorry I should have looked.

Insurance quotes vary so much it's impossible to get a guide from some randoms on the internet. Postcode lottery seems to be the main factor.

In general NA's tend to be more expensive to insure than TT's, bizarre but true. My current NA costs the same to insure as my old single turbo, even though it's worth 1/15th of the value. Same postcode, same insurance company!

He surely must have a record for MPG!

Expect Mid 20's for MPG.

In the teen's when gunning it!

In the singles, when err running a single turbo!

:D

Really? I thought a turbo version would be more to insure than an N/A, partly the reason I made this thread. Glad I did now.

This forum is pretty busy, every time I make a reply there's one or two new ones lol

Nope, turbo cars are mostly cheaper than NA's to insure. Cost more to run though (well, duh! :D )

For MPG, 22mpg is reasonable for both the NA and TT for normal driving in my experience, gunning it the TT can use a fair bit more. On my usual driving (which hasn't changed much over the years and is mostly short journeys), I got about 18mpg from the BPU TT car, and about 20 mpg from the NA, so not much of a difference. I don't tend to drive the NA as hard though as it's all a bit "meh"... :D
