johnny g
After looking around, I really, really want to run my turbos open, through a nice velocity stack, but I don't fancy the risk of all sorts of shi...stuff getting into the engine. The alternative is a pair of airfilters. What do people think, and why?
Rob_Mitchell
thats the problem is keeping the shi... stuff out, why dont you run air filters and then at shows take them off? velocity stack= is that the trumpet looking things??

I think that's what might well happen... And yea, the trumpets on the end of the turbo intake.

Wez
Just think about the stick the crappy HKS cone gets, having no filter is crazy, for shows fair enough.
Swampy442
Dont forget all youre gonna be doing is sucking all that nice hot air from the engine bay, especially the back turbo. Deffo get it filtered up J
hodge
What micron is say an average K&N filter. I could alter the diameter of the bore in the velocity stack to house a gauze that's the equivalent of a filter to stop stuff getting in like dogs cats and small birds etc. I had 1 fitted to my blue supra with a gauze mesh on with no issues at all apart from the spool up whistle was intense cos the funnel magnified it massively. If I could get 1 which would fit a 5" intake I'd get 1 tomorrow.

If there any good I'm having 1. But it will cause a little engine clutter if I do.
sdistc
Velocity stack will improve airflow, but would be much more effective in a sealed airbox (have had a look for the picture of a custom CF airbox for twin intakes, but couldn't find it )
