Digsy
Right-ho. In order to help people who are trying to get part numbers from here but may have trouble telling us exactly what kind of car they have, or even just for those who want to check out their VIN details, I have taken all the good info from the MKIV.nz site and put it into a user-friendly spreadsheet. Here's how is works: On the first worksheet, fill in the VIN plate with your details, and it will be decoded on the right of the sheet. The other three sheets contain the information that makes it all work, and can be modified. The all the sheets are protected to stop accidental mess-ups, but it can be easily unprotected so you can have a play around yourself. I banged this together pretty quickly, so please let me know if you find any bugs. PS. MODS: Please please please can you allow us to upload .xls files???? Aerotop Dave
Nice work, I've been looking into this very kind of info for the Supra model guide in the FAQ section. I thought for one moment you'd cracked the FA trim code... but alas not! I think it's Recaros myself, but I wonder if there's anyone with a non-RZ model that has this code? (ie, if it's only found on RZs with Recaros then FA = Recaros for sure).
Alex
I have the trim code LC20 written down?? I've got a full leather facelift... Anyone else got that code?
Digsy
Cheers for the feedback. I'm adding stuff as I get it. I coud use the country codes for Europe and USA if anyone has them.

SimonB
Colour code 6NO (gunmetal) is missing. Good stuff though!
Guest Sakura
Colour code 6NO (gunmetal) is missing. Good stuff though! It is 6N0 (zero, not the letter O) and comes up as "grey".
Guest Sakura
I think it's an excellent template, so well done for putting it together. It doesn't like my chassis number though (1001643) it just puts a row of ####### in the box! :thumbdown

So that might mean that FB is Recaros then (as 'B' hasn't been listed before). Still got the mystery of what the A code is then.

Max Headroom
Found that when I entered model type on progam it E JZA80 ALPVF it didnt change on the right hand side, kept the gear box as 5 speed manual, mine is a 4 speed auto. Apart from that everything else was fine.Great wee program
Alex
You have to chage the gear box code too!! You need all the info off of YOUR VIN plate to get it all to work.
Digsy
Yep, some of the info is repeated in different places on the plate. Strange but true.

Digsy
It would be nice if someone could tell me the country codes for EU and USA first, then it can go in there.

Digsy
HINT HINT * Please can someone with a UK or USA spec car please open the bonnet and tell me what the country code is? *
Ian W
would my car necessarily HAVE to have a number which gives a date of manufacture???
Alex
Yes the chassis code 1002256 for example means it was built in March 98. It's on all legal Supras.

carl0s
Doesn't seem to do very well on my UK spec. Model: JZA80R-ALPVZW other bit with all the codes in it except VIN: 752LF00B04DA343E so that's 752 paint code (storm blue) .. trim is LF00 (uk spec) dunno what B04D is. A343E is the a340 series automatic transmission
carl0s
I guess basically the answer to your question is that there is no country code on the UK cars. Not on mine anyway. So it's fucks up your speadsheet by shifting all the characters left by one.
Digsy
Tits. Thats a shame I'll have to have a play tomorrow to try to make it more universal. Thanks for pointing it out
