hodge
Lee sent me this a couple of days back, wont be far off finished now, Ryan is going over on tuesday afternoon to wire in the new wideband and put the base map on for Lee to run the engine in for a few hundred miles. Dont look like the new turbo is going to be here in time for mapping, i will run around on the BW for a while, after doing some research on the BWS372 im not expecting great things from it tbh but it will at least get me on the road for now. Turbo heat sheild has been polished since this picture. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c338/jamie450x/52617eff.jpg Is that heatshield pop riveted into the turbine housing. How do people find the shiny chrome , I had a slam panel done in chrome and it is a nightmare to keep clean, water marks. I was cleaning it each day plus it scratch really easy

Jellybean
cant be chrome if it scratches easy mate prob polished stainless steel. polished engine bays are a nightmare Thanks, it is some sort of plating on it, mirror effect. nasty thing, took it off , going to 3m Carbon Fiber wrap it but not too sure if the heat will take it off You see alot of the USA guys have the engine bay bling like this but its is probably more for a trailer queen if you want to keep it that way;just wondered how people manage the shinnesss
Rob_Mitchell
the americans chrome everything even alluminium so just a wipe over. Most intercooler panels are polished stainless i got through 3 last show season, highly recommend SRD's ones as the best on the market polish up nice everytime. hodge
Colsoop (Colin) used to br able to get alloy chromed when he was trading on here the only thing he couldn't do was cam covers. I had a set of turbo pipes, plenum, top water elbow etc etc all done in chrome, they looked the nuts.

JamieP
Cheers guys, Very close now, The whifbitz/boostlogic exhaust combo i have has left the exhaust about 3" short of the back bumper so Lee is going to weld a 3" section in the midpipe tomorrow morning. Lee fitted the solid diff mounts last week. We changed the -12 fitting on the bottom of the fuel tank this morning for one with a tighter bend to give more ground clearance. ACPT carbon prop proved a pita to install, we was not sure how best to do it so left it off for the time being to check what they do stateside, will make sure i get that fitted before suprapod though. Just a few jobs for Lee to do now, fluids and ic pipes monday, Ryan is coming tuesday to fire it up and put the base map on.

JamieP
fingers crossed on that mate, whats the BW rated for? Its an S372, 72mm is rated at 850bhp but that will be very high boost most likely, for the first map we are going to keep the boost low at about 1.5bar till it has a few miles under its belt, i dont expect any more than 700bhp to start with. Im hoping the new turbo will see over a 1000bhp.

Bailey.
What's the issue with the s372? Loads of guys use them in the us. Is it nowhere near it's efficiency range at that boost or something?

tooquicktostop
I am still keen to see how much "fun" a street car at 1000+ bhp will be, I know it will be insanely quick but will it be perhaps too quick for Uk roads and will this much power be a car breaker and cause reliability issues, lets face it you are hardly subtle with the right foot
