Guest hoylegj
Hi, I've been trying to find the ICA on my 2000 twin turbo. Evey manual and picture on this site so far does not match my build. Its a standard engine, Straight from the factory in 2000 and a uk build. This is mad, does anyone know. Any help would be gratfully recieved. Thanks Geoff. Swampy442
Should be on the end of the of the inlet manifold nearest the bulkhead. Black round cap on it and a grey plug
Guest hoylegj
Hi, thats what the pics I've seen show, but its not there and can't see any round type valve :-( , really daft, begining to think it hasn't got one, but the idle running is just like is sticking. Swampy442
It cant not be there or the car wouldnt run. Assuming your car has a stock manifold. Stick some pictures up
Nic
Does the 2JZ-GTE VVTi with electronic throttle control have an ICV?
johnny g
True DBW doesn't have IAC. I know the idle mechanism on the VVTi's is different to the pre-VVTi's with the cable throttle.

johnny g
Not what Toyodiy thinks.... Aye, the DBW on the 2JZ isn't true DBW, it's still throttle linked, just with the ECU tied into it.
Guest hoylegj
thanks eveyone for your help, cleaned just about every valve I can find, and its a little better, still can't work out whats setting the idel speed and yes it is a VVTi engine, doesn't appear to have the ICA at all , thanks again, added a few pics of the cars getting it respary after a lorry hit the rear end big time :-) thanks for you help
Ian C
The VVTi doesn't have an idle control valve, I would presume it's all done off the throttle butterfly, as stated already. See attached pic Toyodiy must have mixed up their "thlottles" hah Edited July 18, 2011 by Ian C My smileys aren't working :( (see edit history)
Ian C
Which brings us to the question - what's actually wrong with your idle, what are you trying to change/fix Is it too low, too high, varies a lot?
EMPEROR
Not what Toyodiy thinks.... Mate, you are on page 1, which is ('9305-'9709)... this is not VVTi, click Next illustration ('9709- ), there is no Idle Control Valve there...
Guest hoylegj
Yes Ian, that's the lump, idle is to low drops to about 500 when in gear and 600 ish out of gear, just don't want to start moving bits without some idea whats what
EMPEROR
I would just recommend you to remove the hose that goes to the TB and use some degreaser spray... If the ICV function is played by the throttle butterfly, then this seems to be the problem.
JODY T
There is s little Allen key pin thingy near the throttle body that holds the throttle spring mech out ( the bit with the cable in it..) Just undo it and move to get desired idle.. Tighten and hey presto..
