What Goes where RE shims and springs on J Spec front calipers

Hi all, I have purchased some used J spec front calipers for a stop (No pun intended) Gap on the drag car. Search came up with nothing that i could understand!

They have 2x anti rattle springs on only one end of each pad..I wondered if that is right?

Also do they go on the leading or trailing side of the pad :search:

I also seem to remember anti squeel shims fitted to my last set, can anyone confirm how important the above is Please :)

Thanks for the reply, But i meant the springs that clip into the caliper, on one end only (2 per caliper) without them the pad is free to float about by 2mm or so in the caliper...i cannot see that it is supposed to be like that?

you need the anti rattle kit, i had the same problem with my UK's. only reason i had them installed was that they rattled so loud it was doing my tits in. you can run them without them in, as it free's up the brake dust with less chance of them clogging up.

Here you go. You can leave all of them out and it'll still work fine though.

Cheers for clearing that up, I have only 2 anti rattle components fitted per caliper and the other 4 are missing! But in my scenario a squeeky brake will help disperse the crowd when going through the pits...;-)
