TTRickeh
Went along to this at a place called Wallace Performance and put the Supra on. Quite a few nice cars and I was the only Supra on the dyno. Some pics for you guys Vid: My spec is double decat but stock exhaust, everything else stock, and i'm running stock boost. They had to put a couple of people on my boot because my tyres were spinning having been stored for about 5 months and only driven slowly 1-2 miles to the RR. I made 306bhp fly (276.4 rwhp) and 320lbft which works out at an estimated 10.8% drivetrain loss which is on the lower side I think. Graphs: Something up with the boost tailing off though, right? and it's a little rich at the top? I'm going to have to go boost leak and sticky actuator hunting I think. Abz
Doesn't help you didn't give the engine a good run in, should have taken it for a good blast first.
TTRickeh
Wasn't really in the mood for blasting at 8am on a saturday lol It got a few attempts whilst wheelspinning away on the dyno though and was the first RWD car to run so wasn't too bad
jevansio
10% is low, use 15% and the power seems blob on, anyway sod the dyno, get some better pics up with the kick ass wheels on, gotta be one of my all time fave Supra wheels there. Not a guru on stock boost levels but holding 10 PSI is normal boost levels? Is it not normal to get peaks on the stock setup around the changover? SilentAgro
Either way.. The car looks stunning I'm sure it will be better when it goes out for a few runs.
Josh
Nice one. The TVR interior has never been a favourite of mine, bit too cream like.

Not quite sure J I was struggling to find another stock twins graph with boost and AFR's in it to compare. Yeah still loving the wheels Someone else got a good side on pic on the PH forum i'll go see if I can steal it and upload it here. Need to get my finger out and get rid of the stupid adhesive tape that held the spats on too. Did yours have that when you took them off? It was only the wheels & tyres that hadn't been used for months btw, the car has been used plenty on the stock wheels.

I saw the red i would like in a Mondeo ST220 yesterday. That would be so good in the TVR

I'm no expert on stock boost, but if it's normal to get small spikes at changeover (as that is what you are seeing, the graph may exagerrate the effect due to it's scale but in effect you could be seeing at most 1 PSI over stock levels, not a great spike at all). Yes, just get some cleaner and use your thumb nail to remove the adhesive Yes get some side on pics up
TTRickeh
I love the TVR interior. Just as wacky as the rest of the car! The darker coloured Tuscan that was there had a more purple look to it. In typical TVR fashion it developed a fault code stopping the RPM being detected and needed a radiator top-up too. Got one side almost done, cannot be arsed with the other side yet! It was the dyno operator that pointed out the boost thing to me, it started to make sense as my boost guage needle has become wobbly on the 2nd turbo whereas before it just hit the max boost of the turbo and stayed there. This coincided with my removing my boost controller and re-tapping the boost guage into a different source, he asked if I was on the stock actuator too, so adding all the things up and the graph I assumed he was onto something. I thought maybe the guage needle had become a little erratic because of the different source i'd used. I'll have a wee look into it anyway. SilentAgro
That looks stunning.. Looks like you have Avon ZZ3's on too. Keep them warm or the grip isnt too good.
TTRickeh
Cheers mate Nah the tyres are Eagle F1 GSD3's all round Should be fine once I have a wee drive in them and expose some new rubber
TTRickeh
I put a hose clamp on the hose coming off the PAS into the inlet mani as it could be pulled off with almost no force, and I covered the wastegate actuator rod beside the 1st turbo in WD40 and moved it back and forth. Boost guage shows boost staying steady now and not oscilating around +-0.1bar either side of whatever the boost actually was like it was before. I think it was the actuator at fault as with the boost controller I had you block the end of it off so it wouldn't have been moving for about 2-3 years so I think it was sticking. TTRickeh
Went to another dyno day at the same place today. 7c ambient temperature warmer than last time and got 352.4 bhp and 381 lbft which is +47bhp fly and +61 lbft more than last time. Boost just over 16psi peak and 14psi until 6500rpm. Injector duty was about 91% at 6500rpm on stock J-Specs which may be decent information to someone. Changes to car were Nur Spec S backbox, cheapo eBay ball and spring mechanical boost controller to up boost to a peak of 1.2bar, wiggled No.2 downpipe actuator rod (although I am still convinced it's not 100% free moving), and put a clip on a hose that was a little loose. Got 324bhp at the wheels though, which works out at 8.7% transmission loss which is even lower than last time. A mate got 13.4% losses in his 350Z. So I think my fly bhp is a bit shy again, a 15% loss would give me 372bhp. I'll upload a video of some of the cars on the dyno soon for anyone that is interested. TTRickeh
Nice one mate, glad the Backbox is working out for you.. Yeah it fits the bill nicely! Keeps the stock Y-Pipes for silencing and is nice and free flowing as a backbox and I still don't need a restrictor ring. Seems to hang a smidge lower than my Nur Spec RX though.
