The Raven
Picked up my engine and bits today. I have the TT throttle control ECU (auto). But didnt pick up the loom that went with it, will my n/a loom (auto) work or do i need the TT loom?
RobD
You'll need a TT auto loom, thought the bloke said everything came with it?

RobD
It took Mitchell ages to find one and hackin n bashin waited and never did get one..... good luck I know, but the bloke advertised it as a complete conversion except stock intercooler! RobD
Doesn't the throttle ecu loom go into the main engine loom or is it a separate loom?
The Raven
I have the engine loom, does the Throttle loom attach to the main one? I have the ECU. I have the Throttle ECU. I need to know if you can seperate loom that goes to the Throttle ECU. If so the chap still has it and has said he will remove it and send me it. He was as good as his word and i have everything else i need to convert. We where both unsure of the Throttle ECU loom. The Raven
I was going to get arsey and claim thats not helpful at all. However that did make me laugh quite alot.
straightsix
I know what you mean - I know when I've posted up and not had a helpful response it's p**sed me off. I couldn't resist that though.... I think you need to go back to the seller if he has the part of the loom you need and will let you have it. Was he just stripping the car? RobD
Just have a look at your engine loom Russ, if you haven't got any plugs near the ecu plug( long orange plug) then there's a separate loom, no-one's said on here that I've seen about a separate loom, keron would be the one to ask
The Raven
I will go take a looky see after the football. Its just there was a load of bits in the pass footwell that when compaired to the N/A well ,that are different.
The Raven
Right. Just been outside, i have plugged the ECU into the 3 orange blocks, and connected the Throttle ECU to one of the blocks coming from the loom. I have a plug left on the throttle contorl ecu, i suspect that connects to block already in my car?
The Raven
More mess and i think i figured it out. Am i right in thinking the spare plug on the Throttle ecu would be used if i had TRAC? Hence why i cant find something for it to plug into in the car?
RobD
That would make sense mate
The Raven
That would make sense mate Thanks for all your help with all this Rob. Doubtful i would have gone for this without your promting. It now seems i have everything i need to convert.
RobD
No bother mate, I've got all the intercooler/piping together but haven't had chance to wrap it up etc yet! I've also got some coilpacks and other bits that I don't need so I'll send these on to as spares
Homer
The throttle ECU only controls the traction control and I think something to do with the throttle retard on auto shift. I don't think you need it though. The loom to the throttle ECU is part of the main engine loom though so not sure what you're missing
The Raven
I think i was being a bit stupid. I found the plug on the Loom that fits into the ECU. However i couldnt find any plug that fitted into the second plug on the ecu. When we looked at the N.A i couldnt see where to the second loom was to plug into the Throttle ECU. Turns out it is probably the loom from the TRAC Hence i didnt have one.
Homer
That would explain it, many NA's didn't have traction control, so no plug for the throttle ECU (aka Traction control ECU)
Rob_Mitchell
throttle ecu plugs into the main TT engine loom. Took me nearly a year to get my TT engine loom, best of luck with the build mate...
