BazzaAlpine
Hi all, Would a leaky seal at the 1bar restrictor ring cause the idle to not make up it's mind where to settle? Some times after a run it will be at 900RPM, sometimes 500RPM and various points in between. I reset the ecu yesterday as I was getting a missfire code (think it was 14) and not checked to see if the code came back yet.
SilentAgro
You get that after resetting the ECU. After you take the car for about a 20 mile drive it should sort itself out.
BazzaAlpine
I'd already done about 40 miles
Chris Wilson
Yes, of course, the O2 sensor will be seeing excess oxygen and the ecu will be trying to compensate. The exhaust needs to be totally leak free to well beyond any O2 sensor.
BazzaAlpine
Thanks Chris. It goes for it's MOT soon at the same place that fitted the engine + decat so I'll point it out to them then.
