KamaSupra Posted March 16, 2011 Share Posted March 16, 2011 I've been thinking of getting an after market front bumper fitted, I like the look of the Do-Luck but worried that my driveway is too steep and it'll scuff. In the pics you can see how much of a gap I have between the road and a stock bumper when I reverse into the driveway. Does anybody with a Do-Luck front think the gap is going to be too small once a Do-Luck is fitted? Or does anyone know how much lower the Do-Luck is compared to a stock bumper? I've seen on another thread that it's 40mm lower, but it doesn't say if that measurement is taken at the front of a stock bumper in the middle or side on the corner of the bumper (Which is slightly lower than the middle) Or does anyone have an idea of how I'd get into my driveway with a Do-Luck fitted if the bumper was too low? In other words, you're screwed That's what I thought, looking at the side angle pic of the bumper it looks like the lower nose part would hit the road once my rear wheels are going up the driveway rather than the height being the issue Lol yep ''Screwed'', unless somebody has an idea for the driveway Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anyone know of any other bumpers which look good but hopefully wouldn't scuff on the driveway before I decide to stay stock? Your's looks incredibly low going into the driveway too Reversing into my driveway at an angle is what I was thinking, although it's very tight so not sure if I could do it I'd have to take a pic tomorrow to show you what I mean, I have a little wall on the left which you can't see in the pic which makes it stupidly tight. It may get in but may not, if it does want to scuff I'd have wasted my money fitting it as I'd have to remove it to get car in driveway to garage I need someone with a DoLuck to pop over to see how close it gets before it would scuff, then I'd know for definite just move house mate problem solved Cheers Rob, problem solved... sideexitsupra Posted March 17, 2011 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Not sure the ridox would work. Is your car lowered or STD? I have a ridox with Tein springs. Virtually no angle on my drive but have to shuffle backwards so I can reverse straight off at an angle with no steering lock applied. First time I reversed off I cracked it!!!!! It's ok driving onto it though and with STD suspension should be much, much better. Paul at Whifbitz also has a splitter for these that will protect the bumper, though it will make it a bit lower of course. Hope that helps? I can take some measurements if you want? Was thinking depth below the headlights at most forward part and the distance this is from the centre of the front hub. Let me know if you want me to do this and will sort it on Saturday for you.
